Flexi Text

FlexiText allows flexibility in the placement and manipulation of curved text. Strings are created with a specified number of control points which can be dragged to precisely determine the curvature and positioning of text.

A FlexiText string, or a piece of normal text, can be placed along, or parallel to, most MicroStation curve or shape elements. The number of control points are specified, allowing the fit to be as rigorous or as smooth as desired. Control points can be added or deleted as needed. Spacing between words or letters can be dynamically set to give the most suitable layout.

Once a FlexiText string has been placed it is stored as a single element with the associated curve data. The string can easily be repositioned in a drawing by dragging or copying. The FlexiText string can also be edited, and font style, size, slant, justification and inter-character spacing modified. As the curve defining the position of the string is stored with the string, the parameters can always be changed throughout the life of the drawing.

See Flexi-Text Toolbox for details about the FlexiText tools.
